Our Own "Vermont Sales Tax Holiday" -- Continued

For the remainder of 2011, with any merchandise purchase of $500 or more at The Bike Center, you don't pay the sales tax, we do.

If your purchase is $500.00 or more, this is the amount you pay.  We calculate the state's share of this when we do our book-keeping.

Thanks to record rains in April and May, we still have a great selection of bikes, so take advantage of our "tax holiday", as well as:

Sale prices for road bikes all remaining road inventory, second round of price reductions
Sale prices for mountain bikes all remaining mountain inventory including some great 29ers, second round of price reductions
Our "Tax holiday" also applies to any prepaid special order over $500 that we do not currently have in inventory.

Middlebury and Addison County Biking

Road Biking in Addison County: Lake Champlain Bikeways

Middlebury is the jump-off point for some of the most amazing road rides in the U.S.  We are in the Champlain Valley, home of the Lake Champlain Bikeways.  Our nearness to Lake Champlain means some great rides in the Adirondack region of New York are just ferry ride away, with work on the new Champlain Bridge to New York scheduled to finish in October.  Finally, we are at the foot of the Green Mountain range, offering some the most challenging and scenic climbing and descending anywhere.

If you start in Middlebury, the great ride begins right outside your door.  No other town in Vermont offers so many options for road riding.

Mountain Biking in Addison County: Chandler Ridge-Leicester Hollow

Thanks to a cooperative effort by the National Forest Service and the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA), work on the Chandler Ridge-Leicester Hollow Loop Trail on nearby Mount Moosalamoo is nearing completion, with sections of the trail already being ridden.  This is Vermont's first serious mountain bike trail on National Forest land.  The trail begins at the Silver Lake Campground in Goshen, Vermont, and can be accessed from:

The Blueberry Hill Ski Center
Branbury State Park on Lake Dunmore
