| | The more people ride bicycles, the better
off the world will be.
With this in mind, The Bike Center caters to all cyclists,
be they mountain or road, casual or dedicated, commuter or competitor. You
already have a sense of who we are by visiting our home page, but it takes
people to run a bike shop:
 | We've been owned by bicycle advocate and
inventor David
Tier since 1975. |
 | Our sales manager, Justin Crocker, has
35
years of experience in the sport and 15 years in the bike
business. Justin's credits include
licensed cycling coach and category II racer on the eastern U.S. and Canadian circuits.
Justin also put in 15 years in the computer industry and does all the
research, writing, editing, and uploading for our website. |
 | Our head mechanic, Kelly Chamberlain,
comes to us from Alaska via Craig's List. Kelly ran a small shop in
Alaska, where he found time to become a certified mechanic, certified wheel
builder, and certified suspension mechanic |
 | Our summer mechanic, Charles
McCarthy, comes to us from FitWerx in
Waitsfield, where Charles assembled and tuned custom bikes by Cervelo,
Serotta, Independent Fabrications, Parlee, and Guru. Watch for Charles
in 2010's Bike Up the Mountain Points Series
-- he's an ace climber. |
