Edge Composites uses a unique carbon manufacturing process, one that creates a component's holes (for valve, spoke, brake bolt) as part of the molding process.  This means Edge Composites eliminates steps 2), 3), and 4) of the process currently used by other carbon component manufacturers:

  1. Mold the component -- this is where the Edge manufacturing process begins and ends.

  2. Bond pieces of the component (like dropouts and fork blades) -- all other companies.

  3. Drill spoke, valve, and/or brake bolt holes -- all other companies.

  4. Reinforce the drilled holes with epoxy -- all other companies.

What's the result of making holes part of the molding process?  Edge components are lighter, stiffer, and stronger.  We've tested Edge forks and rims in some of the most challenging terrain in the northeast, including all the courses of the Green Mountain Stage Race.  We find them to be highly race-worthy, and also a great pleasure for daily riding.

We are delighted to be the first Vermont dealer for Edge Composites cycling products, and one of the first Edge dealers in the U.S.  Visit weightweenies.com and use their search engine.  Edge Composites products are meeting virtually universal approval among a very picky group of bike owners.
