Mountain bikers smile while the roadies rave about SRAM's new road groups ;-)

We've enjoyed SRAM's cutting-edge mountain bike components for years.  SRAM started with shifters and chains, moved on to derailleurs, then acquired RockShox, Avid, and Truvativ.  That's a lot of in-house talent for one company!  Look for SRAM components on some of the best mountain bikes out there!

SRAM shifters are famous for their ultra-quick rear derailleur actuation ratio of 1:1.  When you move your shift lever, the derailleur moves the same amount, so there is less effort involved in your shift. Shimano, on the other hand, has a 2:1 ratio, so you have to move your lever twice as far as the rear derailleur will move.

All three of SRAM's X-level systems offer pro-level functionality.  As always, you pay more to get less.  The lighter the weight, the higher the cost, due to more exotic materials like carbon, titanium, and magnesium:

bullet X.7 -- light
bullet X.9 -- lighter
bullet X.0 -- lightest and most expensive
