74 Main Street Middlebury Vermont (802) 388-6666

The Synapse uses a slightly longer head tube and an additional 5mm of stack, so handlebars will be higher than other Cannondale designs, relative to saddle position.  Comfort and efficient power transfer are enhanced by the frame's light weight -- similar to a CAAD8 in the equivalent size.

The Synapse uses two frame technologies to achieve a plush ride:

bullet Triaxial Hourglass seat stays for damping road vibration and absorbing road shock.
bulletCannondale's exclusive S.A.V.E technology (Synapse Vibration Elimination) in the chain-stays and fork provide a pinpoint balance of vibration- absorbing comfort and lateral stiffness.  The chainstay design is new to road bikes, but it's been used for years with Cannondale's full-suspension x-c mountain bike, the Scalpel.

Yep.  The Synapse AL  won the "Great Value" diamond in the Bicycling Magazine 2006 Buyer's Guide "plush road bike" category.

The Synapse Carbon SL 1 lightens up an already light frame.  And in case you've doubted the "race ability" of this frame, check your spring issues of Velonews.  Because of its vertical compliance, you'll see the Synapse being used by Cannondale-sponsored pros riding the cobblestones of the spring classics.
